Welcome to Hamburg

New Year's Course from 27-31 December 2019 in Hamburg

We’re happy to invite you to the New Year’s Course 2019 with Lama Ole Nydahl and Lama Jigme Rinpoche in Hamburg.

We will expand the course to two locations this year: There will be a Diamond Way Village around the "ETV Halls" (ETV Hallen) for Travelling Teacher program, meditation, sleeping, eating and gathering. For the program with Lama Ole Nydahl and Lama Jigme Rinpoche we will be in one of Hamburg's biggest venues – the "Hamburg Sport Hall".

On the 31st of December we will be in the Diamond Way Village to give the Boddhisatva Promise with Lama Ole and then dance into the New Year.

Questions and Answers

Frequently asked questions about the topic "Special aspects of the big hall".

No. Due to regulations of the venue, you may only bring bags into the hall that are smaller than DIN A4 (ca. 21x29 cm). Larger bags can be stored in the cloakroom of the hall, which is guarded by the hall personnel. An exception to this rule only applies to meditation pillows and blankets. As always, you are not allowed to bring any weapons or knives to the big hall (Hamburg Sport Hall). Due to the requirements of the hall, we have to cooperate with an external security company, and all participants will be checked. We are working on a solution for the blessing table and will inform you as soon as we know more.

Yes. We rented one of biggest event locations in Hamburg and the venue has to provide professional security staff. There is also a service to store luggage and for everything else, that is too big to be taken into the lecture hall.

Good point. Very good point. Let us think about it. There will be a solution

Yes.

Bags and suitcases can be stored in the cloakroom of the big hall, which is guarded by the hall personnel. The storage costs between 2.50 and 4.50 EUR, depending on the size of your luggage. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to offer a self-organized free storage at the lecture hall!

Frequently asked questions about the topic "Locations and transport between locations".

The Diamond Way Village is our most important place between the lectures of Lama Ole and Lama Jigme Rinpoche. It is the place where we meditate together, where our traveling teachers will give their program, where we can eat and where you will find a limited number of places to sleep (1200). It is also the location for the Bodhisattva Promise on New Year's Eve with Lama Ole and the New Year's Party will happen there as well.

You can use the public transport system. The bus/metro ticket is already included in the day ticket price and your wristband is your ticket for travelling between Diamond Way Village and lecture hall. Please check the section 'Locations' on this website for directions. Please notice: the ticket ist NOT VALID on the last day, December 31st. Please buy a bus/metro ticket for this day, if required.

When you arrive at the course, we will give you a wristband as always. This wristband is also the ticket for the public transport. The wristband ticket is valid for all travels between the accomodation and the lecture hall. Please notice: the ticket ist NOT VALID on the last day, December 31st. Please buy a bus/metro ticket for this day, if required.
